Secrets of the Contests
After reading through the adventure and seeing the various prison games like Cup Chuck, Slip 'n Slide, and Arms Wrestling you may have some questions about what to do with these and how relevant they are.
First, completing all three challenges earns a ticket that the party can use to challenge the warden and escape. Nobody has ever done this, of course, so the party may only know this as a rumor that everyone knows.
The next important thing about these challenges is that there isn't any recommendation provided on how to run them. That is because I think you can treat them any way that makes sense to you as long as its dramatic. Having said that, I'll provide a few ideas.
The first thing is that each champion will offer the group one full day to prepare after challenging them. This builds tension and gives the party a chance to think through things while also making them think that this is harder than it looks.
Next, you can treat the mechanics of the challenge as a roll-under or as a contest or series of contests. If you choose to do contests, each of the champions has an advantage to these games. Red, the plastic man, has a hard, smooth body. Aadne can use 3 arms to wrestle, and Narf's body is built for consistency.
Finally, each champion and their game can be overcome with creativity, and this is highly encouraged. Hidden spells, smuggling equipment, etc are all useful options.
For the DM running the game, flesh out the champion's personality so the party can learn more and figure out an edge.
